Morgan & Ryan // October 24th, 2015

Some of you may not know this but long before Facebook came to be there was another social media outlet called Myspace. It never really took off and I’m not sure if anyone even still uses it today but fortunately for me it did exist because that is where Morgan met Ryan and how they came to be in my life. They do not live in the Raleigh area but chose it as their destination location for their wedding because all of their guests were traveling. Because our great state of North Carolina is not only so beautiful in the month of October it is was also convenient for all of their guests who would be flying or driving in to share in their big day. We spoke by phone and scheduled a time for them both to come to Raleigh for a whirlwind week of not only meeting me face to face for the first time but for a vast array of vendor appointments to select our “dream team” and discuss all their ideas and plans. And we did just that, so once they drove back home we hit the ground running. The minute I met them I fell in love, I felt like I had another daughter and son and over the course of our 12 months together I grew fonder of them both. They choose to do their engagement photos while they were here and take advantage of the beautiful fall colors. Along for the trip that week were their fur babies. And by that I mean their ferrets. I have never been a fan of those little critters but once I held them that all changed and now I have a whole new outlook. Josh and Shelley Hartman took some of the cutest photos of all four of them. When they drove away at the end of the week I knew that would be the last time I would see them until the day of their rehearsal but we stayed in contact through email, texts and phone calls with them putting all of their faith in me to give them the wedding they always dreamed of. The day of the wedding the weather was absolutely perfect, the reason why North Carolinian’s love that time of year so much. As a planner there are days I wake up feeling almost as excited as my brides with the anticipation of seeing all of their hard work come together, and this was one of those days. From the beginning Morgan knew she wanted to incorporate pumpkins with her color choices of navy and orange but wanted to make sure it was done in more of an elegant way so with the right choice of linens and a fabulous florist I adore, we achieved just that. They both put so much thought into every detail of this wedding that it came together so beautifully. Down to the pumpkin seeds that we re-purposed from all the pumpkins the florist hollowed out for centerpieces. Tracy roasted them for us and we placed them out during cocktail hour for guests to enjoy…and they loved that. Pumpkins were even a part of their wedding cake which was adorned with what looked like their initials carved into a tree. It was a day filled with love and laughter and I was so honored to be a part of it. When they drove off that night there was a bit of sadness on my part knowing they were headed back home the next day but because of the relationship we formed it was not a true goodbye but rather “we’ll talk soon”. And we have……XO Lynn

Morgan’s mother passed away when she was young so I loved spending some alone time with her before she headed down the aisle and helping her with her veil.

The bridesmaids bouquets looked gorgeous against their navy blue dresses complete with a white and navy stripped ribbon on the stem.
It was a very emotional ceremony, we were all in tears as Morgan was coming down the aisle.

Carrying his new bride through the woods to get the perfect photo, love this about Ryan.

These four flower girls could not have been any cuter in their tulle tutus that Morgan had specially made just for them.

Love re-purposing flowers so carved out pumpkins made the perfect spot for the bridesmaids bouquets.
This cake did not disappoint, Ashley worked her magic yet again!

No outdoor Fall wedding is complete without hay bale seating and checkers!

Our triple door display made a great back drop for their DIY photo booth.

Ryan surprised Morgan with a special car for their ride back to the hotel, he really is the perfect gentleman!
