Sarah & John //September 12, 2015// Mordecai Historic Park

Tucked away in Downtown Raleigh is a hidden gem called Mordecai Park. Once the site of the largest plantation in Wake County it’s 3.2 acres offers couples the use of beautifully landscaped gardens, a small chapel, use of the visitor center and several historical buildings that add the perfect backdrop for pictures. Sarah and her mom reached out to me seeking a Day Of Coordinator for their September wedding and when I met them on the grounds of the park one rainy afternoon I fell in love with the space and knew her ideas for a small romantic garden wedding were going to be absolutely gorgeous. Sara and John live in Texas so we did the majority of our planning by phone and email and by the time the day of the wedding rolled around I was so excited to see her face to face once again. There was threat of thunderstorms and rain for the entire day but we took a leap of faith and continued with our plans of having an outdoor ceremony and reception. And thankfully the rain held out the entire day and they were able to exchange their vows in front of the chapel with dinner, dancing and fun under the market lights strung across the garden. With such a sweet couple, love of their family and friends and the rain never dampening our day fun times were had by all. XO Lynn
