The Blushing Bride (Post 2)

The day is finally here. Your wedding day! The day you dreamed about for so long is finally here. It’s hard to believe that after all the planning, hard work, and tears, you finally get to marry your best friend!

With so much anticipation leading up to your wedding day, it’s easy to get swept up in making sure everything is absolutely perfect. Trust me, I know. I was one of those brides. I spent fourteen long months planning out this ONE day, so I wasn’t going to let anything ruin it. I bought all the bridal magazines I could get my hands on, bookmarked the popular wedding blogs, and spent more time on Pinterest than I thought was humanly possible.

There is nothing wrong with a well-planned out wedding day, by any means. Planning a wedding is an exciting season of life which should be celebrated and cherished. Hiring a professional planner was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process. It certainly made my day go as smoothly as possible! What most brides don’t realize, however, is that the standard of “perfect” is just not reachable when it comes to weddings, and odds are, something won’t go exactly as you planned it. Your bouquets won’t look quite like you wanted them to or your father-in-law will call you the morning of your wedding and tell you, to your horror, that the rental company delivered the wrong sweetheart table (yes, that actually happened to me)!

Just because something goes wrong, however, does not mean that your day still can’t be perfect. Your wedding goes beyond just the beautiful details of your day. Your wedding day is about you and the person you are committing your life to. The vows you make to each other on that day are the foundation for your marriage. And that’s a wonderful reason to celebrate! But while your wedding is just one day, your marriage will last a lifetime. So, before you get caught up in planning the perfect wedding, remember to take a deep breath, relax, and think about all the wonderful days to come!
